The Department of Computer Science Engineering and Information Technology at Shiraz University, established in 1969, has a proud history of scholarship and education. It has been consistently ranked among the top-10 departments in Iran, and #1 in the south of Iran. Internationally, the CSE department has been ranked among the top-500 computer science departments worldwide.

Admission to our undergraduate and graduate programs is competitive and is carried out through national university entrance exams. Our students are ranked among the top-2% in those exams. Our graduates work at well-known national or international companies, or they do impactful research at top academic institutions.

The CSE department offers a rigorous undergraduate program in computer engineering, and several master's and PhD degree programs. Our curriculum that follows the guidelines outlined by the ministry of science, research, and technology is aligned with the curricula in computer science and engineering proposed  by the ACM and IEEE.

Currently, we have around 300 undergraduate students, 200 master's students, and 70 PhD students. We have more than 20 full time and adjunct professors. Female students constitute 40% of our students.

Our student body organizations are active. The ACM Chapter organizes periodic talks, training and programming contests.
